About
The purpose of this Web site is to provide a neck strengthening program for military paratroopers with the goal of reducing the incidence of mild traumatic brain injury. Mild TBI can occur from direct impact or whiplash injury during parachute landing. Strong necks and upper back musculature may minimize the risk of neck and head injury. The exercises provided in this protocol are meant to be supplemental to army physical strength training routines.
Neck Strengthening Rationale
For further information regarding neck strengthening rationale please click HERE. Currently efforts are underway to study the mechanisms behind parachute landing and determination of a minimum strength threshold for mild TBI.
TRAINING
Neck strengthening and posture correction are two main components of the training protocol. However, an optimal training program takes into consideration the entire kinetic chain. Therefore, a combination of training techniques and core techniques are indicated in the program. Choose a button below to begin.
